Parkside Fire Company is located about 5 miles south of Philadelphia in Delaware County Pennsylvania. We provide Fire & EMS protection for about 2,500 residents and small businesses in our Primary local and provide mutual aid to surrounding communities. We also provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) with full time Paramedics From Crozer Chester Medical Center. The Fire Department schedules its regular business on Tuesday evenings. Feel free to stop by on any Tuesday night at around 7:00 PM and speak with anyone of our members. We will be more than happy to show you around. The 1st and 4th Tuesday - fire drill night, The 2nd Tuesday - EMS drill night, The 3rd Tuesday - Company Meeting.

Company 45 was dispatched to 900 Main St. Upland Brough to assist company 57 for the building fire. Upland Fire Chief D. Smith (57-9) was first on scene with smoke showing from the second floor of a two story MOD. Tac-45 under the Command of A/C P. Curry (45-9B) was next on scene and had his crew quickly stretch a 1 ¾ line to the 2nd floor to find a small fire on the stove. Eng 57’s crew assisted with checking for extension. Company 45 was back in-service with in the hour.


 
RESCUE GOES TO WORK IN CHESTER

Rescue 45 was dispatched as the RIT on the second alarm  building fire in the City of Chester at 1300 Crosby St. (Crosby Square Apts.) As Rescue 45 went responding they were reassigned as a Engine Company on the 2nd alarm. Rescue 45 was given orders to pick-up  the plug at 13th & Crosby and supply Chester Reserve Engine 82-3. Rescue 45’s crew reported to the man power pool. The fire quickly went to 3 alarms. Crews worked for over 2 hours to bring the 3 alarm blaze under control. Chester Firefighters rescued a disabled women from a ground floor apartment. The fire damaged multiple apartments and displaced many residents.

Rescue goes to Upper Chi Chester

Rescue 45 was dispatched to assist the Upper Chi Chester Fire Dept on the building fire as the RIT. While responding to the building fire. Fire Board notified Deputy 40 that Rescue 40 was due on the accident assignment with entrapment on I-95 south in the area of Rt. 322. Rescue 45 was already on I-95 south heading to the building fire. Deputy 40 added Rescue 45 and Rescue 39 to the accident assignment. Rescue 45 under the command of Chief J. Iacono (45-9) arrived to find a one vehicle accident overturned off the highway with negative entrapment. Rescue 45 assisted EMS then returned to service. Rescue 40 stood by until the vehicle was removed from the highway. Units on scene were Rescue 40, Rescue 45, Rescue 39, Medic 100, Medic 100-7, Medic 100C, Ambulance 40, Ambulance 68, and Upper Chi Police.

Working Fire In The Boro

 At 08:15hrs the box alarm assignment was struck for the 200 block of E. Avon rd. for a house fire reported to be in the  bedroom. Chief J. Iacono (45-9) arrived on the scene to find a two story twin with smoke showing from the C/D corner. Tac 45 under the command of A/C P. Curry (45-9b) arrived with a crew of 5 and dropped approximately 800 feet of supply line. Tac 45's crew led off with a 1 3/4" hand line through the front door to a rear bedroom wear they encountered heavy fire. The Tac Crews put a quick knock on the fire and started the Primary search. Engine 45 arrived shortly after Tac 45 and secured the water supply.  Ladder 65 was given orders to ladder and vent the building.  Thanks to all of the Companies for assisting with getting Tac 45 back in-service. 45-9 scaled the assignment back to Companies 45 & 65. Companies were on scene for about 45min. Units assisting on scene were Rescue Co. 43 ( RIT ), Engine Co. 57, Truck and Rescue Co. 63, Truck and Engine Co. 65, Parkside Police, Parkside Fire Marshal's Office. Special thanks also go out to Green Ridge Capt.Jimmy Kraph for assisting the first in crew and Chauffeur.

On Wed Firefighter/EMT Chase Frost, Capt. Matt DiDomenico, & Deputy Chief John Albany were invited by the Brothers of the Upper Darby Fire Dept. to the Tower Theater in Upper Darby to see Denis Leary in the Rescue Me Comedy Tour. Crew were dispatched at around noon time too the unit block of Norman dr in Aston for the building fire 72-9a arrived and reported smoke showing from the D-side of the building Tac 45 under the command of Deputy 45 ( Albany ) stood by the plug and sent the crews up to assist 63 with overhaul and checking for extension, crews where on scene for approximately and hour. Around 1730hrs crews where back out again for the building fire reported in Holmes rescue 45 arrived and set-up the RIT and got ground ladders thrown to all the windows on the 2nd floor, Crews stood by as the Rit for approximately 30min before returning.

Company 45 was dispatched to the 1300 block of Worrilow Rd.in the Toby Farms section of Chester Twp. for the building fire. Tac-45 was first on scene to find a 2 story middle of the row with nothing showing. Crews found food in the oven with a smoke condition inside. Deputy 45 reduced the box to Tac-45, Quint 52 & Company 47. Crews vented the building and were back in service in 10 mins.

MEMBERS GO TO WORK IN THE FARMS

Just before 16:00hrs Eng. Company 45 was dispatched to assist company 47 along with companies 57 & 52 on a report of a outbuilding on fire to the rear of 1509 Rainer Rd in the Toby Farms section of Chester Twp. TAC 45 went to the rear to find heavy fire from a shed and  two row homes. Tac-45 placed a 1 ¾ line in service & quickly knocked all outside fire down.  Members than advanced the line thru the basement entrance to the 1st floor were they found heavy fire conditions. Deputy 45 had the interior command and requested a 2nd line be brought in from the front door as Members of 47 & 52 brought a 2 ½ to the first floor and a 3rd line to the 2nd floor. Crews from 57 advanced a line into the second fire building from the front. Crews worked for over an hour to bring the fire under control. Also assisting on scene was RIT 39, Truck & RIT 63, CTPD, & Tower 61.
