 At 08:15hrs the box alarm assignment was struck for the 200 block of E. Avon rd. for a house fire reported to be in the  bedroom. Chief J. Iacono (45-9) arrived on the scene to find a two story twin with smoke showing from the C/D corner. Tac 45 under the command of A/C P. Curry (45-9b) arrived with a crew of 5 and dropped approximately 800 feet of supply line. Tac 45's crew led off with a 1 3/4" hand line through the front door to a rear bedroom wear they encountered heavy fire. The Tac Crews put a quick knock on the fire and started the Primary search. Engine 45 arrived shortly after Tac 45 and secured the water supply.  Ladder 65 was given orders to ladder and vent the building.  Thanks to all of the Companies for assisting with getting Tac 45 back in-service. 45-9 scaled the assignment back to Companies 45 & 65. Companies were on scene for about 45min. Units assisting on scene were Rescue Co. 43 ( RIT ), Engine Co. 57, Truck and Rescue Co. 63, Truck and Engine Co. 65, Parkside Police, Parkside Fire Marshal's Office. Special thanks also go out to Green Ridge Capt.Jimmy Kraph for assisting the first in crew and Chauffeur.
